My name’s Alan Rait and I’m a Specialist Equity Release Adviser. Based in North Manchester, and looking after customers old and new throughout the North West of England, West Yorkshire and further afield as necessary. I’ve worked all my life in financial services, and since 2014 have been working in later life lending with Lifetime Mortgages. This is a market I can readily engage with as I’m a couple of years over state retirement age myself! My typical customer is over the age of 55 (younger applicant if a couple), asset rich but cash poor. They probably get by month to month but there’s nothing left for those bigger items like home improvements, replacing a car or helping the family with their hopes and aspirations.
